A space to celebrate design-led art and creativity
A space to celebrate design-led art and creativity
Jacky Winter Gallery is where art and design converge to uplift their creators. Established by The Jacky Winter Group in 2008, the gallery hosts monthly exhibitions showcasing design-led creative talent from our roster of represented artists and broader friends and collaborators.
The gallery is curated by seasoned gallery manager Shena Jamieson, with support from Tatanja Ross, Jacky Winter’s Special Projects Lead. Their combined eye for creative talent results in a delightfully diverse collection of art and art experiences featuring artists from the commercial art world.
Jacky Winter Gallery began on George Street in Fitzroy, and was originally known as Lamington Drive. The gallery has always been connected to Jacky Winter HQ, and is now at home on Budd St in the creative core of Collingwood. The fit-for-purpose gallery space was designed by Nest Architects to inspire, showcase and celebrate artists in a modern Australian setting.
Wandering in on a typical day, you might find anything from an artist market to a product launch, a workshop or an artist in residence. With exhibitions rotating circa-monthly, the gallery provides the opportunity for our incredibly talented artists to showcase their body of work or specific collections to the wider public.
Jacky Winter Gallery exists to enable The Jacky Winter Group’s collective of artists to flourish both commercially and creatively. It is not your ordinary gallery, but a non-traditional art space that works collaboratively with artists to create viewing experiences that reflect their practices.
Opening hours for Jacky Winter Gallery are Wednesday to Friday from 11am to 6pm, and midday to 5pm on Saturdays.

Jacky Winter Gallery recognise the continuing connection of Naarm to its traditional owners. We acknowledge the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri as the Traditional Custodians of the lands we are on and pay respects to their Elders past and present. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationships to their ancestral lands, which continue to be important to The First Nations People of today. We remain ever inspired by the historical and contemporary artwork produced by First Nations artists, as a tool for the transformation of cultural knowledge. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded.
Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
Jacky Winter Places
Like the gallery, Jacky Winter Places is another way we provide physical spaces in support of the art community and the nurturing of artistic practice. Places for artists to find refuge, respite, adventure or reflection – perhaps on a hike in the Dandenong Ranges or combing the shores of Walkerville’s Magic Beach.
Jacky Winter Gardens is a private guest house and creative retreat, hidden amidst a half-acre of secluded bushland within the high hills of Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges. An undisturbed and immersive sanctum to work, create or merely exist in comfort, quiet and tranquility.
Jacky Winter Waters is a site to behold the magic of Walkerville’s magnificent beaches. The house stands in stark contrast to the rugged cliffs in which it was built to admire, offering calm and quiet respite from the elements.
From March to November every year, we set aside five days each month – Monday through Friday – where we dedicate both properties to our artist residency programs. We provide exclusive use of the properties to individuals from a variety of backgrounds to immerse themselves and develop their contemplative or artist practice with a self-directed retreat.
Applications are free and taken once a year.
Jacky Winter Spaces
As The Jacky Winter Group has grown, so have the mediums and platforms that our artists work on. From this evolution we have launched Spaces, a dedicated footprint that seeks to transform any space into something beautiful and memorable.
Any space? Well, so far it’s included music festivals, office interiors, 20-foot exteriors, retail experiences, community areas, and brand activations, but we’re really open to anything you want to bring to the table. Whether it’s a one-time event, long-term programming or something more permanent — from finding the right artist and idea, all the way through to installation — we’re here to seamlessly bring your built environment to life, anywhere in the world.
While we work with clients and brands globally to craft spaces that ignite, inspire and entertain, we also direct our talents into our own environments – including the Jacky Winter Gallery, a space carefully curated to allow our artists’ work to shine.
