Arms Open Wide explores the intersection between imagination and adversity. Morgan reflects on creativity as a way of building resilience, healing and self discovery.

“I wonder whether it too, is a common fear for other artists that there may not be many opportunities to sing your loudest into a blank page and proclaim that lovingly, you were once here. My experience with an illness has continuously led me back into the imaginary. Here I can psychologically and actually put pen to paper, pick up my overwhelming assumptions and experiences and discover that all paths lead back to awe.”

Arms Open Wide is a body of work consisting of a tapestry of expressive large and small scale acrylic paintings – a joyful exploration of creativity as a refuge for navigating hardship.
