Artists, Writers, Thinkers, Dreamers
by James Gulliver Hancock
13 Jun – 5 Jul, 2014

Jacky Winter is pleased to present Artists, Writers, Thinkers, Dreamers, a book launch and solo exhibition by James Gulliver Hancock.
To celebrate the launch of James Gulliver Hancock’s new book, Artists, Writers, Thinkers, Dreamers, Lamington Drive presents the Melbourne instalment of a tour spanning five cities across the US and Australia. His latest publication, out through Chronicle Books, depicts historical icons in his eclectic annotated style. A cultural who’s-who illuminating 50 famous figures, from Leonardo da Vinci to Coco Chanel, drawing upon the fascinating trivia of their lives.
In his accompanying solo exhibition, James presents complimentary works, wall hangings and original process drawings. Hancock’s love of colour, paint, and controlled messes was apparent even in his formative years. His artistic process of re-imaging the world around him intersects here with conceptual and philosophical investigations into these iconic figures.
Join us on opening night for a reception with the artist and book signing. Four Pillars Gin will be serving delectable Hemingway Daiquiris throughout the evening.
