Debut Album
by Greedy Hen
6 – 28 May, 2011

Jacky Winter is delighted to present Greedy Hen: Debut Album the inaugural solo exhibition of large scale prints by collaborative due Greedy Hen.
After spending their days designing artwork for their hero bands and musicians in the music industry, Greedy Hen came to thinking: ‘what if we were a band? What would we look like if we were our heros?’ So set the direction for their exhibition: ‘Greedy Hen as a band’ and the release of their fictitious Debut Album.
Presented predominately as large scale prints, Greedy Hen: Debut Album comprises album artwork, song titles, a music clip of their fabricated hit single and illustrations narrating the content of each Greedy Hen song. ‘Greedy Hen: Debut Album’ is a playful mediation on the idea of SuperFiction1 and the heroic amateur – how would we invent ourselves as masters of another discipline?
Greedy Hen is a Sydney-based, multi-disciplinary Art Collective/Design Studio, brought to life by Katherine Brickman and Kate Mitchell. Their work has graced the covers of many band’s albums, tour posters, and film clips, including Cloud Control, Ariel Pink, Florence + The Machine, Animal Collective, Washington, Bill Callahan (Smog) and The Middle East, The Waifs, Washington and Josh Pyke.
