Jacky Winter is pleased to present Found Objects featuring works by five renowned Australian photographers – Anu Kumar, Honey Long, Prue Stent, Sarah Pannell and Shelley Horan. Co-curated by Shena Jamieson and Tatanja Ross.

The show pairs tangible objects with photographic explorations of the everyday. Celebrating the interplay of space, light and texture, the featured works range from chance encounters to meticulous compositions of ordinary items re-framed to highlight their visual and conceptual significance.

Artists have been depicting arrangements of objects for centuries through still life compositions, inviting viewers to appreciate form, texture, and symbolism. ‘Objet trouvé’ or ‘found object’, along with readymades and assemblages were popularised by The Surrealists, who challenged traditional notions of what can be considered art. Each approach underscores the potential of transforming quotidian objects into captivating and complex artworks.
